Jessina Thomas is currently a sophomore at Northwestern University. She has been working in Dr. Teresa Woodruff's Lab as a Student Researcher since her junior year in high school.
People
Kate earned her BA in Neuroscience from Oberlin College (2001) and her PhD from the University of California, Davis (2009). During this time, she performed research and simultaneously developed a passion for communicating scientific advances to the public. After a working as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago, she joined the Oncofertility Consortium to inform the public, researchers, and the health community about advances in the prevention and cure of medically-induced infertility.
Candace Tingen, PhD is the Director of Research Programs for the Institute for Women’s Heath Research and coordinator for the Illinois Women’s Health Registry. Candace earned her bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Women’s Studies from Duke University in Durham, NC and earned her PhD from Northwestern in the lab of Dr. Teresa Woodruff studying ovarian development before puberty. Candace has an interest in using her background as a scientist in order to better serve those in policy positions with analysis, synthesis, and communication of scientific innovation and discovery.
Min Xu joined the Woodruff lab as a postdoc in July 2004. He obtained his medical degree in 1998 from the Nanjing Medical University in China. He earned his Ph.D from the same university in 2003, working on molecular diagnosis of infertility. At the same time he was performing as clinician and embryologist in Infertility Center of Jiangsu Province People's Hospital. He is now working on the in vitro ovarian follicle culture, and study the mechanics of paracrine and autocrine factors on follicular growth.
Jie Zhu joined the Woodruff Lab in 2006. She received her MD in pediatrics at Nanjing Medical University in China, and her MSc from Suzhou University in China.
