Dr. Shuo Xiao joined Dr. Woodruff’s lab in 2013 as a postdoctoral fellow. He earned his MD in Preventive Medicine and MS in Nutrition & Food Toxicology from Peking University Health Science Center. In 2008, he started his Ph.D. in Toxicology at the University of Georgia in which his reserach focus was on how environmental endocrine disruptors adversely affect the female reproductive system, including embryo development, transport, implantation, and puberty, and the molecular mechanism of uterine receptivity. His projects in Woodruff's lab focus on female reproductive toxicity of environmental and pharmaceutical chemicals, establishing the ex-vivo female reproductive tract in microfluidic system, and the fertility protective options for young cancer patients with the risk of reproductive dysfunction. Dr. Shuo Xiao will start as an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina in the Department of Environmental Health Science. His research interests will include endocrine and reproductive toxicology.
