Report from the joint meeting of the Oncofertility Consortium Japan and Japanese Society for Fertility Preservation

Congraluations to our colleagues in Japan who recently hosted a joint meeting of the OC Japan and JSFP in February. Below is the report from Dr. Nao Suzuki. Thank you for being the pioneers of oncofertility in Japan and Asia and for hosting such an important meeting.


The Oncofertility Consortium Japan (OC Jpn) meeting 2019 and the annual meeting of JSFP were hosted jointly with 480 participants on Gifu City, Japan from 9 to 10 February 2019. 

At the OC Jpn meeting in the 1st day, Dr. Tatsuro Furui(Dept Ob/Gyn, Gifu University) presented the outline of OC Jpn.  After that, the current state of regional medical collaboration was reported by Dr. Shin-ichi Tachibana,(Dept Ob/Gyn, Tohoku University) and Dr. Sachiyo Yoshimura(Dept of Breast Surgery, the Aichi Cancer Center).

In addition, Dr. Chie Watanabe (Dept Nuring, Sophia University), Dr. Masato Yonemura (Dept Pharmacy,the National Cancer Center East Hospital), and Dr. Yuka Ito (psycologist of Gifu University Hospital Perinatal and Reproductive Medical Center), raised various problems on the current situation and issues about oncofertility and discussed with the participants.  Lastly, Dr. Nao Suzuki (Chairman of JSFP), talked about the reviews and future prospects and brought the meeting to a close.

In the part of JSFP annual meeting, various concerns and expectations were discussed in the sessions of HPV vaccination, male cancer patients, AND perinatology. 

In addition, the present and future situation of the financial support, remote counselling, and patient registration were also presented.
